After averaging 17.5 points per game in his first two Centennial Conference contests, Johns Hopkins junior forward Danny Nawrocki, a resident of Syosset, was named Centennial Conference Player of the Week in men's basketball on Tuesday.
In a 75-56 win at Swarthmore on Nov. 30, Nawrocki scored 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting in 28 minutes. Nawrocki also went 5-for-6 at the free throw stripe.
Nawrocki posted his second double-double (points-rebounds) of the season in a home win over Muhlenberg on Dec. 3, scoring 18 points and pulling in 10 rebounds in 23 minutes.
The team's leading scorer and the sixth best in the Centennial Conference, Nawrocki is averaging 16 points/game. His field goal percentage of 59.7 percent ranks sixth in the conference.
This is the second career Centennial Player of the Week honor for Nawrocki, who also gained the honors last season after a 41-point, 24-rebound performance in the Blue Jay Invitational, Nov. 19-20, 2004.
