At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, the Syosset Volunteer Fire Department responded to a serious auto accident with entrapment at the intersection of South Oyster Bay Road and Woodbury Road.

Jackson PTA Initiates Multicultural Outreach Program
This year, the George A. Jackson Elementary School PTA has established a Multicultural Committee. The mission of this newly formed group is to reach out to all families from the community and make them feel more comfortable about getting involved in school activities. The committee was established under the leadership of PTA co-presidents Ruth Damon and Randi Dukoff. "We realized that although our community was becoming more diverse, it wasn't reflected at our PTA meetings and school events," said Damon and Dukoff. "We established this committee to look at ways to make everyone more at ease in our community, and encourage all families to become more interested in our schools."

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor's Oyster Festival Run Is a Success
There is something special every year about the Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor's Oyster Festival 5 Kilometer Run. Maybe it's the kind of party atmosphere that pervades Festival weekend in Oyster Bay, but this year local runners were treated to a brand-new course that really shows off the Oyster Bay area at its best, featuring a scenic uphill on Berry Hill Road and an exhilarating descent down Sandy Hill Road to the finish. Whatever it is, there were lots of happy faces at the start and at the finish.
