Although their wedding date is something they will forever remember, the morning's events are something that David and Maria Cuccia would like to forget.
Twenty-three years ago, on their wedding day, a car hit a tree stump and crashed into the Cuccia's home/chiropractic office in Syosset almost killing David and his best man. Two weeks ago, as they were able to celebrate their 23rd wedding anniversary, a car crashed into that same home/office on Jackson Avenue in Syosset.

On July 26, a 62-year-old man was driving his car at a high speed east on Lewis, crossed over Jackson Avenue and crashed into a parked car on the property of the Cuccia's home/office sending a parked pick-up truck through the fence and into the backyard.
Just minutes before the accident, Dr. David Cuccia, Maria Cuccia, Dr. Browne and Dr. Kaminsky were standing in the parking lot discussing the current progress with Dr. David Cuccia's invention, Extentrac Elite, the FDA decompression device. The four were headed to a lunch meeting and left Dr. Browne's pick-up truck in the parking lot. His car was struck by the driver.
The driver of the car, who was in critical condition after the accident, was said to have had a heart attack while driving, which caused him to drive erratically.
