The Jericho Brookville Lions Club is our local branch of the International Lions organization. Nearly 1.4 million Lions members in 194 countries and geographic areas answer the needs that challenge the communities of the world. Lions tackle tough problems like blindness, drug abuse prevention and diabetes awareness.
The Lions Club International Foundation ("LCIF") is the grant-making arm of Lions Clubs International. LCIF is Lions helping Lions serve others. It's the only Lions foundation that serves the entire world and all 1.4 million Lions. The LCIF has mobilized nearly $12 million for tsunami victims in South Asia. The funds will enable Lions to build homes, schools and orphanages in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand and India. Lions are also providing psychological treatment and physical rehabilitation for children and adults. Supported by LCIF grants, Lions in South Asia already have provided hundreds of thousands people with food, water and medicine.
The Jericho Brookville Lions Club usually meets at 12:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the Maine Maid Inn, which is located on Old Jericho Turnpike. If you would like more information about the Club, please call Bob Hoffman at 681-0178.
