The Jeffrey Mosenson Memorial Fund will hold its second annual golf outing on May 9 at the prestigious Pine Hollow Country Club in Norwich. The event serves as one of the foundation's principal fundraisers and includes a full day of golf, brunch, barbeques on the course, an open bar and a lavish buffet dinner. The evening events will include raffles, sports memorabilia auction, and live auction. Non-golfers are encouraged to attend the dinner and evening events.

The funds raised will help the Jeffrey Mosenson Memorial Fund build the Jeffrey Mosenson School of Trauma and Emergency Medicine and Research Center. The school will be the future home of the Nassau County Fire, Police and EMS Academy and a research laboratory for New York Institute of Technology/New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. The Fire, Police Academy that will be housed in the new school will be able to train up to 2,500 medical first responders per year, up from its current maximum number of 1,000 trainees per year.

"Jeff just couldn't get enough firemen and medical first responder training," said David Mosenson, co-founder and executive director of the Foundation. He also mentioned that while the building is indeed a memorial to who and what Jeff was, it is important that people understand the results that the school will provide is the true legacy of Jeff. "There is a high probability that when a fireman, policeman, or other first responder responds to a fire, a car accident or a medical emergency, that they will have received some of their training at the school we are building." If people can understand this, then when they are making a contribution to the Jeffrey Mosenson Memorial Fund, they will someday make a difference in their lives or the lives of a loved one."

Golf is being limited to the first 144 golfers. Last year's event was a tremendous success with the golf limit being reached and over 350 guests at the evening events.
