Nassau County Fire Commission Honors Three Syosset Fire Fighters for Valor
The Nassau County Fire Commission honored twenty-three individual fire fighters, including three members of the Syosset Volunteer Fire Department (SFD), and two Nassau County fire departments for acts of valor and outstanding service to their communities during its annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 20th, 2005 at the County Supreme Court Building in Mineola. In addition, three private citizens and a Nassau County Police Officer were also recognized for selfless acts on behalf of others.

Syosset Baseball Association kicked off the 2005 intramural baseball season on April 9. The weather at the 9 a.m. games was a sunny, spectacular 60 degrees, inviting for a fun-filled day for exciting baseball.

Troubling Times for Syosset Braves
No one thought it would be like this. No one thought it would be quite this tough. Sure, rebuilding is not an easy or a fun process and it could be worse. But as the Syosset Braves reach the midway point of a season that is fading, it seems as if the ball club once known for outstanding defense play and timely hitting has a lot of work in front of them.
