Syosset Fire District Gets Community Feedback on New Woodbury Fire Station Plans
The Syosset Fire District recently hosted a series of public information sessions to discuss plans to replace Station No. 2, which has been serving Woodbury for over 50 years. These meetings gave the fire district a chance to explain the plans to build a new fire station on the current site while gathering valuable feedback from residents of the fire district - particularly members of the Woodbury community.

Syosset Basketball League Holds Girls Championship
March madness came early for the Syosset Basketball League (SBL). On March 14, the third and fourth grade girls basketball championship was held at the Walt Whitman School. The gymnasium was packed to standing room only. The Sparks, coached by Paul Smolevitz, jumped out to an early 2-0 lead against the Fever, but the Fever ran off the next ten points and never looked back. The Fever won 25-12.

Jericho Youth Football League Registration for Tackle, Flag, and Cheerleading
The first set of registration dates for the fall 2005 flag and tackle football programs are set to take place on Tuesday night, March 29 and Wednesday night, March 30 from 6:30 PM until 9 PM at Jackson Elementary School. The flag program is open to boys and girls ages 7 -13 years of age who will be in second through eighth grade this upcoming fall, and the registration fee is $125. The tackle and cheerleading programs are open to boys and girls ages 5-12 in the fall 2005, and the registration fee is $180. The flag league is entering its sixth season, while the tackle program in conjunction with the Syosset Tackle Football League will enter its second season.
