Comptroller Weitzman Plans Special Districts Audit
Calling them "a hidden government" that drains taxpayers' wallets, Nassau County Comptroller Howard S. Weitzman announced that his office plans to begin auditing some of the more than 400 special taxing districts located throughout the county.

Jacobs Secures Funds for Traffic Calming Project in Syosset
Nassau County Presiding Officer Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) is pleased to see the traffic calming project for Jackson Avenue and Underhill Blvd. in Syosset finally become a reality. In 2004, Legislator Jacobs committed $150,000 from her district's community revitalization funds to finance the important project.

Csillag Finishes Eighth in Regional Golf Championship
Matthew Csillag of Syosset recently placed eighth in his age group at the US Kids Golf regional championship in Jekyll Island, Georgia. Csillag competed against 45 other junior golfers from all over the United States and Asia. Invitations were limited to golfers who finished in the top three in their statewide competitions.
