Last year's inaugural camp provided hands-on professional education on the fundamentals of the game from former Major League baseball players, along with visits from a few of the current Mets. Syosset Baseball's participation of 90 players, ages 7 - 12, provided for a rewarding and fun-time for all with expectations to build and improve for this coming year's camp. The participating players capped off this week of fun with an opportunity to partake in an on-the-field visit at Shea Stadium on Sept. 10, 2004, when the New York Mets played the Philadelphia Phillies. Many of the Syosset Baseball Association players took advantage of this great time.
Director's Kevin Surdi and Tom Hopke made this announcement in advance of the summer vacations for families to plan on being around for their child to participate in this exciting opportunity.
