A public scoping session for the preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Statement regarding the proposed action will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. at Town of Oyster Bay Hall. Comments on the draft scoping document are being accepted now through March 1.

The applicant is requesting a special use permit and revocation of a declaration of restrictive covenants to construct a 136,999 square foot home improvement center with a 31,709 square foot garden center in a light industrial district. The proposed project is located at 300 Robbins Lane in Syosset.

Potential impacts include effects of zoning, land use, soils, water quantity, sewage, aesthetics, energy, traffic, air quality, noise, community growth and character.

Copies of the draft scoping document will be available at the public scoping session and at 150 Miller Place in Syosset.
