As chairman of the Cerro Wire Coalition representing more than 40,000 Town of Oyster Bay homeowners and 6,000 small business owners, I want to personally thank all of you who braved the cold, rainy weather to attend our recent rally on Robbins Lane outside the former Cerro Wire property.

Our ongoing efforts to convince the Oyster Bay Town Board to pass a Robbins Lane Corridor Moratorium received a major boost from the crowd of more than 500 who turned out, despite the rain, to show their support. This impressive display is a clear indication that residents throughout Syosset and Jericho truly care about the community and want to ensure that any future development in the Robbins Lane Corridor is compatible with our surrounding residential area, not something that will destroy it forever.

Although the battle over the proposed 860,000 square foot mall is still in the courts, passage of a building moratorium by the town board could result in a re-zoning of the entire Robbins Lane corridor. This moratorium could ultimately stop the proposed mall on the former Cerro Wire site and other large retail development projects, whatever the outcome of the court case.

At this time, it is critical that you let Supervisor John Venditto and the rest of the town board know you favor passing the moratorium.

You can let your voice be heard by calling the supervisor's office at 624-6350, by writing to: Town Hall, 54 Audrey Avenue, Oyster Bay, NY 11771 or by e-mailing by visiting the Town's Web site at: www.oysterbaytown.com. Once there just click on the Contact Us section and follow the instructions. Please take the time to call, write, e-mail or even do all three.

In the meantime the Cerro Wire Coalition will continue its efforts to convince the town to pass the moratorium as soon as possible. Together we can make it happen.

Thanks again for your continued support.

Todd Fabricant

Chairman
