Among the highlights of the September 21 meeting of the Greater Long Island Running Club was the presentation of checks to the Long Island chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation, and the Oyster Bay-based environmental group Friends of the Bay, all from the proceeds of the 2004 Vytra-TOBAY Triathlon. The checks were presented by Running Club Vice President Mindy Davidson, who served as the Coordinator of Volunteers for the Vytra-TOBAY Triathlon. Even before school opens in September, Syosset student athletes are out on the fields running, drilling, getting in shape and learning how to function as a team. The fall athletic season is now open and students in Syosset High School, South Woods Middle School and H.B.
