Jericho Students Start School Year With Sunny Skies and Bright Smiles
Students around the Jericho School District returned to their classrooms on Wednesday morning, Sept. 1. Clear blue skies, billowy white clouds, bright sunshine and pleasant temperatures set the perfect stage for a flawless opening day. Backpacks filled with supplies, tentative smiles, and yes, even a few tears were all part of this annual tradition.

Jericho Resident's Third Book in Bookstores Now
Jericho resident Rick Frishman started in the world of publicity almost 30 years ago. After working as a producer at WOR-AM, Frishman joined Planned TV Arts in 1976. At the time, the company consisted of Frishman and his mentor, whom Frishman bought out in 1990. In 1993, he sold the company to Ruder Finn and he now serves as an executive vice president at the company.

July Fourth weekend, the Syosset Baseball Association's 9-year-old division entered into a Summer Travel Tournament, hosted by Plainview Little League.

News from the Syosset Basketball League
Syosset Basketball League recently announced the registration dates for the 2004-2005 season. All boys (Grades 3-12) and girls (Grades 3-8) interested in playing basketball in the intramural and travel leagues (tryouts TBA) must register in person at the Thompson Middle School Cafeteria on Sat. Sept. 11 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. or Tues. Sept. 14 at from 7 - 9:30 p.m. Boys in grades 3-6 must have rating evaluation at time of registration. Bring your sneakers. Potential coaches are invited to watch. Volunteer coaches and sponsors are needed.
