Paying Traffic Tickets On-Line Will Become Reality
Nassau County Presiding Officer Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) and majority members of the Rules Committee approved several contracts last week that will allow the county's e-government initiative to move forward. Two of the contracts-one for $12,800 to Quest Computer Products and the second for $72,950 to Neulion, Inc. Management Systems-will provide services to the Traffic, Parking and Violations Agency allowing the agency to implement an online parking and traffic ticket system. This online service is part of a grand plan for Nassau's e-government initiative, which includes a county website, "Nassaucountyny.gov." that is expected to go live in November 2004.

Walk to Benefit Local Hospitals
Runners, walkers and wheelchair athletes of all ages and levels of ability are cordially invited to participate in the inaugural Heart & Sole 5 Kilometer Run on Sunday afternoon, August 29, starting and finishing at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School on Southern Parkway in Plainview. The starting gun will go off promptly at 5 p.m.
