Meet the Candidates Running for Jericho School Board
Incumbent Jericho School Board candidate Saundra Gumerove-Bernstein was first elected to the Jericho Board of Education in 2001. She is a life-long Jericho resident and a graduate of the Jericho School system. Gumerove-Bernstein was endorsed by the Birchwood Civic Association (BCA), on which she is a board member.

Jericho School District Budget Vote Scheduled for May 18
Based on an ongoing review of our educational program, recommendations for improvements and modifications are anticipated at all levels. The high school is offering a number of new courses for the upcoming year. They include: Web Design, Introduction to Internet Webmaster, Computer Art I, Advanced Computer Art II, Animation I and II, American Sign Language II, Chinese Language and Culture, Spanish for Language and Culture, AP Computer Science, Principles of Engineering III, and Tournament Debate.

Penalty Kick Keeps Syosset in First Place Tie
Play the game the way it's supposed to be played, never give up, and always give your best effort until the final whistle blows. That might as well be the motto of the Syosset Invasion Girls U-11 travel soccer team after they came back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to defeat the Levittown Tomcats 3-2 in LIJSL Division 2 action last Saturday. The victory enabled Syosset to remain undefeated and in a three-way tie for first place as they passed the midway point of the spring season with a 3-0-2 record.

Football Evaluations for Jericho Youth Football
The Jericho Youth Football League will be holding its annual evaluation for children interested in playing flag football for the fall 2004 season. The evaluations will be conducted by Jeff Falk and Steve Brett, along with coaches and volunteers from the league. The children will be evaluated based upon their speed, agility, passing and catching skills and overall athletic ability. The evaluations will be conducted at the Jackson Elementary School on May 20, 21 and 25 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m.
