Firefighters Represent Syosset at 9/11 Memorial Groundbreaking Ceremony
On March 11, two firefighters from the Syosset Volunteer Fire Department represented Syosset at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Nassau County Memorial to the victims of September 11. Firefighters James Thomas and Robert Camarda joined the ranks of the color guard at the solemn ceremony, which was attended by President Gerorge W. Bush, Governor George Pataki, former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi.

Jericho Boys Sixth Grade Basketball News
The Knicks completed a great season by winning the boys basketball championship on March 21 at the Jericho High School gym. The Knicks finished the regular season with an 8-2 mark. They received a bye in the first round of the playoffs and then beat the Cavs 46-40 in the semi-finals. In an extremely hard fought final, the Knicks beat the regular season championship Nets by a 47-35 score. The Knicks were led by team MVP AJ Bauman, who played point guard on offense and often guarded the opposition's top scorer on defense.
