Jericho School District Reschedules January Board of Ed Meeting
The Jericho Board of Education monthly meeting has been rescheduled for January 29 at the George A. Jackson Elementary School. Please note that due to a lengthy agenda, the meeting will begin at 7 p.m. The January 15 Board of Education Meeting, which included Budget Workshop #1, was cancelled due to inclement weather. Budget workshops #1 and #2, related to the proposed budget for the 2004-2005 school year, will be included as part of the January 29 meeting. Members of the community are welcome to attend this meeting, as well as provide input and ask questions.

Local Students Named Intel Semi-Finalists
Three hundred of America's high school seniors, including four from Syosset and three from Jericho, were recently honored for their excellence in science as they reached the semifinals of the Intel Science Talent Search (STS). Often considered the "Junior Nobel Prize," the Intel STS is America's oldest and most prestigious pre-college science competition.

Basketball in Full Swing for Jericho Athletic Association
The Jericho Athletic Association's Travel and Intramural basketball season is in full swing. With over 600 children participating, from first through ninth-grade, and with 12 travel teams competing throughout Long Island, basketball is definitely a favorite sport for the kids in the community.

Four Jericho Residents Make Finals
The first major junior tennis tournament of 2004, a National Level 4 Event, took place on Long Island in the following age groups: Girls 12 and under, Boys 12 and under, Girls 14 and Under, Boys 14 and under, Girls 16 and under, Boys 16 and under, Girls 18 and under and Boys 18 and Under.
