At the urging of Nassau County Presiding Officer Judy Jacobs, the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) recently installed several safety improvements along Canterbury Road, a cul-de-sac in Woodbury that abuts the access road from the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway leading to the westbound Northern State Parkway. Local politicians rallied with residents of the Woodbury Cove senior housing development in Woodbury last week demanding that the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) install a traffic light at the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and the entrance to the development. The rally, organized by Town of Oyster Bay Councilwoman Bonnie Eisler, was the result of many complaints from residents living in Woodbury Cove, a senior housing complex with approximately 100 units.
