Jacobs Pleased with New Safety Features Installed on Woodbury Street
At the urging of Nassau County Presiding Officer Judy Jacobs, the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) recently installed several safety improvements along Canterbury Road, a cul-de-sac in Woodbury that abuts the access road from the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway leading to the westbound Northern State Parkway.

Woodbury Cove Residents Hold Rally to Install Traffic Signal
Local politicians rallied with residents of the Woodbury Cove senior housing development in Woodbury last week demanding that the New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) install a traffic light at the intersection of Jericho Turnpike and the entrance to the development. The rally, organized by Town of Oyster Bay Councilwoman Bonnie Eisler, was the result of many complaints from residents living in Woodbury Cove, a senior housing complex with approximately 100 units.

Syosset Chamber to Host Annual Golf Outing
The Syosset Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the third annual Golf Outing on Monday, September 15 with a noon shotgun start at the Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course in Woodbury. Registration, brunch and practice will be at 10 a.m., the golf tournament will take place at noon, lunch and beverages will be served on the course, the open bar begins at 5:30 p.m. and dinner, prizes and awards start at 6:30.

Local Figure Skater to Take the Nassau Coliseum Ice With Olympic and World Champions
Paige Ketsoglou, a nine-year-old resident of Jericho, will take the ice at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, on September 7 with Olympic figure skating stars, Nancy Kerrigan, Surya Bonaly, Rudy Galindo and many more to support the Coalition of 9-11 Families and the 9/11 Families Give Back Fund in the second annual Stars, Stripes & Skates Icetravaganza - the Official 9-11 Commemorative Event.
