John R. (Jack) Avellar passed away April 13, 2003 at his home in Dublin, CA. He was the son of John and Alba Avellar. He was born in San Francisco, CA Sept. 4, 1946. He was a resident of Syosset for many years and graduated from Syosset High School in 1964. Jack was an Eagle Scout, a past Exalted Ruler of the San Pedro, CA, ' Club and a retired technician for Continental Airlines.

He is survived by his wife Judy Avellar of Dublin; a son Matthew of Carson, CA; his mother Alba Avellar of Rio Rancho, NM; a sister Kathleen Ballard of Albuquerque, NM; a brother Gil Avellar of Sandy, UT; and a stepson Craig Hagenbaugh and stepdaughter Tammy Slabaugh and family of Tracy, CA.

A private burial was held in the Los Banos, CA, Cemetery with the Elk's Club of Los Banos officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made of the Kaiser Martinez Hospice, the Elks' Club or a charity of one's choice.

Edwin R. Szigethy Edwin R. Szigethy, of Syosset, died on May 6, 2003. Husband of Joan (nee Kileen). Father of Deborah McGee, Susan, Nancy and Edwin Szigethy Jr. Grandfather of Lauren, Gregory, Julia, Alexandra and Eden Beth. Arrangements were made by the Beney Funeral Home, Syosset. Funeral Mass at St. Margaret's Church. Interment St. Margaret's Cemetery.
