The Annual Syosset Memorial Day parade will be held Monday, May 26 at 10 a.m. This event is jointly sponsored by the American Legion Post 175 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6394. This year the American Legion is the official host, as they alternate with the Veterans of Foreign War each year.
Inquiries regarding participation should be directed to Parade Coordinator Gus Scutari at 496-8975. All residents are invited to this function honoring deceased veterans who have made the supreme sacrifice in serving our country. Their love and devotion to the country, their deep patriotism and sacrifices when they responded to the country's call are remembered on Memorial Day. Honor these deceased veterans by displaying the country's flag.
Parade assembly will be at 9 a.m. at the Variety Children's Learning Center on Humphrey Drive in Syosset. The parade will then proceed north on Jackson Avenue, west on Muttontown Road, south on Queens Street, east on Underhill Boulevard to the monuments adjacent to the railroad stations. Formal ceremonies will commence at 11 a.m.
