All the hard work practicing and playing in the very early winter league really paid off as the girls Jericho Fire Team traveled to Port Washington and beat the Port Washington Stars 5-0 in the first game of the season.

Crisp Stellar passing, great ball control and good set-ups by Taylor Katz and Renee Kiviat enabled Jordan Feinerman to score four goals and Wendy Ginsberg to score one goal. With strong mid-field play by Lauren Weiner, Alexis Henin and Dani Ben Moshe, the Jericho Fire kept the Stars off-guard and constantly put pressure on their defense. The incredible defensive play of Dana Palmieri, Amy Setton and Nicole Ripke prevented the stars from ever making any serious threats and gave goalie Farrah Waldman a well deserved victory and shut-out.
