On several occasions, several individuals requested both a printed copy of the criteria for recognition and a nomination form in order to nominate alumni into Syosset High School's newly created Honor Roll of Distinction. It has taken the Syosset High School more than 40 years to bestow this honor on an alumni.

I was very interested to read in the Syosset-Jericho Tribune (March 14 issue, page 3) that Jericho High School was hosting the 12th annual Induction Ceremony into their Hall of Fame.

Perhaps someone from Syosset High School could call their counterparts in the next town and use Jericho's procedures as a guide for SHS.

My suspicion is that the whole Syosset High School Honor Roll is a politically motivated farce. If it were a legitimate operation, there would be published procedures, so that other deserving alumni could be nominated.

I would welcome any comments from a representative of the Syosset High School.
