The Jericho Youth Football League will hold its fall season registrations for all boys and girls interested in participating in the non-contact flag football league. Registration will be held on Monday and Tuesday, March 24 and 25 at Jackson Elementary School Cafeteria from 7 until 9 p.m. Players must be at least 7 years of age and no older than 14 years of age by Dec. 1 in order to be eligible to participate.
The cost for the season is $125. Every player's parents or legal guardian is required to sign the registration form. Unfortunately, no online or website registration is available.
The games will be Saturdays from Sept. 13 through the end of November with the season-ending party in early December. All players receive a game jersey and wrist band prior to the season. Flag belts will be provided by the league.
The registration plays will receive a date and time for their mandatory evaluation session to be held the week of May 19. During the evaluations, players will be rated in several categories to assist the league in formulating teams.
Parents interested in coaching can sign up during registration. If you have little football or coaching experience but have the desire and time to help you are welcome and encouraged to volunteer. In addition, the Jericho Youth Football League is in the process of forming an executive committee. They are looking for parents interested in continuing the growth of the organization. If coaching or the executive board is not for you, but you have the desire to help, the JYFL is always in need of volunteers and assistance.
If you have any questions regarding the fall 2003 season registration, coaching, the executive board, or volunteering your time, you can contact either Steven Brett at 297-1472 or Jeff Falk at 485-2729 or by e-mailing jyfl@optonline.net.
