One more registration and evaluation night for SYAC Girls Softball is planned for later this month.

Sign-up and evaluation for girls in Grades 6 - 8 is Thursday, Jan. 23. Registration is from 6:30-9 p.m. and takes place in the cafeteria of the H.B. Thompson Middle School on Ann Drive in Syosset. Girls should bring a baseball glove and wear sneakers for a brief "evaluation" for team make-up. Jewelry should be left at home.

Sign up nights were held for Grades 2-3 and Grades 4-5 earlier this month. Those who missed those nights can come Jan. 23. Girls in kindergarten and first grade need not be evaluated but should call 496-8085 to request an evaluation form.

The cost for the SYAC season (early April to mid-June) is $75, payable by check or cash on registration and evaluation night. Some coaching and sponsorship spots remain open; inquire when you come.
