In the battle of two unbeaten teams Syosset emerged victorious with a 27-7 win over Levittown at home today. The Braves entered this contest with two previous victories and were determined to add another to their win column. They did just that as they shut down the Levittown offense limiting them to only one score.

The Braves scoring parade started on the third play from scrimmage. Joe Gallo made like a human pinball bouncing off defenders until he gained the corner and did not stop until he reached the end zone 40 yards away. This was the first of four touchdowns for this multi talented player today.

A tough Braves defense led by Thomas Palumbo stymied the Levittown offense all day long. "Tom was in their backfield so much today he got to know the Red Devils running backs on a first name basis," said coach Paul Avena. But Tom had some company back there today. Michael Moore tracked down and tackled a Levittown back for a seven-yard loss, Michael Sciroppo followed suit with an eight-yard loss. Sammy Galasso continued to impress the coaching staff with an interception and a touchdown saving tackle for the second straight week from his safety position. Michael Mcintyre stripped a ball carrier and defensive ends Matt Beers and Matt Ramirez provided outstanding play. As always, Logan Ehrens, Tom Costa and Gallo anchored the team with their usual solid performance. The team continues to miss tri-captain Brenden Kennedy who is sidelined with a knee injury. We are hoping for a speedy recovery.

As the Braves took over on offense for the second time, Quarterback Alex Dochter lead the way hitting Robert Galligan on a 40-yard out pattern which brought the ball down to the Levittown 35. On the very next play Joe Gallo was sprung for his second score by a Matt Beers downfield block. Gallo was outstanding today but his line mates deserve a pat on the back for their contribution today too. Center Michael Edlestein, Guards Mike Mcintyre and Robert "Tank" Storrie, and Tackles Tom Costa and Palumbo played hard-nosed football all game. These boys are coming together and much of the team's success is based on their performance.

Fullback Matt Ramirez ran hard today and converted two extra points for the team. Ramirez also delivered a crushing blow to a Levittown defender springing Gallo for his third score of the day, a 50-yarder around right end. Gallo added one more and finished up with 200 plus yards for the third consecutive week upping his touchdown total to 11.

Alex Dochter found his running legs late in the game and chipped in with a nifty 40-yard run. Tom Lukocovic made some terrific blocks from the end position while James Carchietta and Nick Bonomi continue to develop and make plays on both sides of the ball. Rookie Brandan Amberger is a young developing athlete who adds depth to our special teams play. The team also awaits the return of Nathaniel Kristel, a three-year veteran who is recovering from a broken wrist.

"These young athletes out on the football field of battle find themselves together with a true love of the game and each other. That's what makes them true winners and sportsmen" said Coach Ehrens. The Braves look to add victory number four next week as they face Glen Cove at home at noon.

Levittown scored on their first possession and kicked the extra point to go up 8-0, but that's all the Syosset defense would allow for the balance of the game. Syosset's first drive ended in a fumble at the Levittown 30 yard line. The Braves started the second quarter with the ball and mounted a drive that saw Angelo Galasso break outside for a 55-yard run to the Levittown 8 yard line before he was knocked out of bounds. On the next play qb Mike Mcilwee found tight end Chris Ferolito in the end zone for an 8 yard touchdown pass. Sean Lohan added the 2 points for the kick knotting the score at 8. The second half was a defensive struggle back and forth. The Braves gained some field position on Dylan Schawber's 32 yard punt. Levittown drove to the Braves 30-yard line where the defense came up big to take over on downs. With less than 4 minutes left in the game and the ball on their own 35 yard line the ball was given to Angelo Galasso on a reverse play that he took 65 yards to the end zone. Unfortunately, the play was called back on a penalty. The next play was a reverse to the opposite side that Connor Kennedy ran 75 yards to score the winning touchdown. Mike Mcilwee ran in the point after to add the 1 point.

The Brave's offensive line, Chris Ferolito, Richie Lizza, Colin Byrne, Greg Morley, Alex Parlo, Jake Paston and Dylan Schwaber deserve the credit again this week and should be very proud of their performance in the past 2 games.

The Brave's defense has given up only 12 points in three games. These boys all pull together and each contribute in their own way to the team effort. You guys should all be proud of your play today as well, Matthew Goldstein, Michael Genovese, Anthony Diclemente, Joey Morris, Jon Ivarone, Jake Levine, Ryan Lukcovic, Sean Valent, Benny Vasile and Jordan Zeidman.

Next week finds the peewee's at wantagh for their first away game.

A well-played game for both teams with the Valley Stream Green Hornets going home with a well earned win defeating the Braves for the first time this season 22-7.

Braves offense had a slow start along with a few turnovers, dropped passes miscued plays and still came back strong in the second half, but the clock was just not on our side as time ran out.

Defense turned in a pretty good day, but also made some mistakes, taking those untimely penalties.

Coaches Baynes, Van Cott & Rocco along with Coach Quinn all agreed that we just have to work harder,be better prepared, concentrate and execute the plays the way they are designed to work. We have to finish the Amityville game on Wednesday night then play

Lindenhurst on Sunday. So we have tough schedule ahead of us but... We Will Be Ready.

This week's team captains were PJ Nunez, Robbie Nedbor-Gross,Luke Nawrocki and Gabby Lebron.
