New Society Formed to Save the Underhill Property
The Society to Preserve Underhill and Town Councilwoman Bonnie Eisler have, in the past, been unified in their efforts to preserve the Underhill property, an 81-acre parcel in Jericho that sits atop one of only two state-designated Special Groundwater Protection Areas in Nassau County. This relationship has recently been severed.

Syosset Chamber Holds Monthly Meeting
The Syosset Chamber of Commerce held their monthly meeting on Sept. 12 and featured guest speaker Ellen Eichelbaum, a dynamic speaker from the SpeakEasy Group who specializes in Corporate Gerontology. Although her talks are usually lengthy, she gave chamber members an abridged version of her lecture.

Syosset Braves Football Re-Caps
Braves running backs had a great day behind the blocking of the offensive line of Dylan Schwaber, Jake Paston, Alex Parlo, center Greg Morley, Sean Lohan, Richie Lizza, and Christopher Ferolito. Connor Kennedy scored the Braves first touchdown from 35 yards out. Syosset's second touchdown was scored on a 50-yard run by Sean Lohan on a dive play that Sean broke outside after Seaford had stuffed the middle. The scoring was capped by quarterback Mike McIlwee on a 17-yard QB option. Although fullback Colin Byrne did not reach the end zone he contributed with 24 yards of offense running the ball. The Brave's had a 45-yard touchdown run by Jordan Zeidman called back on a penalty. The Brave's defense led by veterans Richie Lizza, Angelo Galasso, and Michael Genovese played outstanding keeping Seaford scoreless. First-year players Matthew Goldstein, Ryan Lukacovic, Anthony Diclemente, Stephen Ferrandino, Sean Valent and Benny Vasile all played good defense to help preserve the shutout. Outside linebackers Jake Levine and Jordan Zeidman are credited with shutting down the outside running of the Colts all day.
