Suozzi Outlines Five Point Fiscal Program for Nassau
On June 27, at an early morning breakfast meeting of the Nassau County Council of Chambers of Commerce, Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi forcefully spoke of Nassau's fiscal dilemma, soundly condemned the recent past leadership of the county and promised conditionally to limit county taxes through 2005. Speaking without notes, Suozzi confidently outlined in detail his five-point fiscal recovery program for the county.

Jericho Middle School Sixth-Grade Mini-Olympics
The sixth-grade mini-olympics were held on the field of the Jericho Middle/High School, June 10, after having been postponed from the previous week due to inclement weather. The weather was perfect, the students were excited and worked hard. The teams emerged from school onto the field in a parade of colors and homemade banners.

Home Run Hitters Capture Pony League Championship
At one point in the season, the Home Run Hitters had 3 wins and 3 losses. From that point on, they never lost another game, winning 7 in a row including last week's finals against the Jazzy Girls. Living up to their name, the game started with a solo home run by Madel Beaudouin. Other highlights of the 8-run first inning were hits by Samantha Margolin and Carrie Morowitz.
