  • Sports: Devil Rays Edge Yankees at JAA Picnic

    The sun shone brightly on Jericho Athletic Association's annual picnic at Jericho High School on Saturday, June 8. On the softball fields beyond the Zorn's chicken and Ralph's ices, the Rockville Centre Pharmacy Devil Rays of the girls third and fourth grade division made hay with a 5-4 comeback victory over the C.O. Bigelow Chemists Yankees. It was the closest, lowest-scoring game of the year for both teams. FULL STORY

  • Sports: Jericho Jets Shine at Junior Olympic Qualifying Meet

    A small but elite group of athletes successfully competed in the Junior Olympic Qualifier and Long Island Championship Track and Field Meet held on Saturday and Sunday, June 15 and 16 at Port Jefferson High School. Amazingly every single member of the Jericho Jets who competed in the Junior Olympic Qualifying Meet qualified for the Regional Junior Olympic Championships to be held June 21-23 at the Mitchell Field Athletic Complex in Uniondale. Last weekend's meet also comprised the Long Island Youth Track and Field Championship and the Jericho Jet competitors came away with flying colors and many medals. The Jericho Jet qualifiers were Michelle Bogdan, Shawna Foulkes, Ryan Grand, SunMi Oh, Gina Perno, Hannah Rosen, Max Rosen, Mollie Rosen, Max Rosenberg, Matthew Sherman, Erin Sinnot and Briana Welch. This group of runners, jumpers and throwers captured a total of 22 individual medals as well as second place in the girls midget 400 meter relay. FULL STORY
