I am looking for justice. In the Syosset Library is a plaque hanging on the wall with the names of recipients of the prestigious Candela award. Each year, a new person is recognized and honored. The names start in 1971. However, the first recipient was chosen in 1963. That person was my husband Lester Smith who did so much for the youth of Syosset. The plaque with his name and the names of the following honorees including William Kupec and Lou Simon until 1971 has mysteriously disappeared. Since my husband died seven years ago, I feel it is my responsibility to see his name on the wall where it belongs.

Can anyone help right this wrong?
