Letizia Giugliano, of Syosset, died on April 30, 2002. Mother of Hope DeSimeone, Elise Henner and Ralph Giugliano. Grandmother and friend of many. Peter Frank Roccanova, 70, of Salisbury, formerly of Syosset, died on May 8, 2002. Born in Brooklyn on Aug. 4, 1931, he was the son of the late Frank Joseph Roccanova and Jean Irene Pisano Roccanova. Mr. Roccanova graduated from Chaminade High School and Dayton University in Ohio. He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1967, achieving the rank of Captain. He was owner-operator of Graphic Presentation Services Inc. and ATR Communications Inc. in Melville.
Mr. Roccanova and wife of 48 years, Mary Genevieve Helgesson Roccanova, retired to Maryland in 1994. After retirement, he kept very active, working at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium, volunteering at the Holly House Food Bank, driving for local veteran's groups and substituting in the Wicomico County school system. He was most recently president of the Schumaker Manor Condominium Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Catherine J. Cavangh (Kevin) of Katy, TX, Steven P. Roccanova of Springfield, MA, Karen M. Schank (Charles) of Medford, and Mary Ann Taylor (Eric) of Montgomery Village, MD; four grandchildren, Brian and Christopher Cavanagh, Amanda and Kyle Schank; a sister, Constance R. Kerwick (William) of Baldwin; and three nieces, a nephew and their spouses. A Christian burial was celebrated May 14 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury. Interment Maryland Veteran's Cemetery Eastern Shore near Hurlock, MD.
Angela Allegra Troy, 58, formerly of Woodbury, died May 13, 2002. She was a professional Broadway dancer, a member of a professional dance team with her husband, a dance educator and recreational specialist in Smithtown. Wife of Robert. Mother of Damion. Sister of Alfred, Antone and Alana. Arrangements were made by the James Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's RC Church. Interment Washington Memorial Park.
