Jericho Students Named Regional Winners in Toshiba Competition
Tanmay Chheda, Chris Lamberti, Sean Mehra and Jeffrey Reitman, all sophomores at Jericho High School, were recently named regional winners in the 2002 Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision Awards competition for their entry entitled "The Bright New Future of Circuitry: A Focus on Brittle Starfish Microlenses to Improve Optical Computing." Their entry was selected from over 4,200 team entries that were received representing the work of over 13,000 students.

Syosset Store Donates 1,200 Pounds of Food to Island Harvest
Sleber waived the registration fee at the fitness store in lieu of customers donating a bag of groceries. Elliott Sylvan, Island Harvest volunteer, had to make three trips to the store to pick up the 1,200 pounds of food that Sleber and Curves collected. The food donated by Curves went to St. Mary's Children and Family Services in Syosset. "It was fantastic," said Sylvan, a resident of Syosset. "It was unbelievable."

5th/6th Grade Jericho Lacrosse
When Jericho faced Plainview last year, Plainview had been undefeated for two seasons. Jericho had jumped ahead 3-1, only to lose in the final minutes to a score of 6-4. Now a year later, Plainview had been undefeated for three seasons. And when the two teams met this past Sunday, nobody knew what to expect, except the unexpected.

5th/6th Grade Girls Softball
It was opening day in Jericho and the weather was perfect for an exciting game of softball. The fans that came out were not disappointed. Jenna Goldberg started the game with a walk, went 2 for 3 with two walks and scored four times. Julia Klimchak, Samantha McInerney and Alison Gluck followed with key hits and the Mets opened up the first inning with four runs.
