Esther Faber, formerly of Syosset, died on Feb. 5, 2002. Wife of the late George Milton Faber. Mother of Robert A. (Karen) and Elyse H. Fogelman (Martin). Sister of Monroe Gamsu. Grandmother of Sarah and David Fogelman, Richard Faber (Traci Wagner), Sheri and Matthew Faber. Companion and friend of Tammy Quinn. Arrangements were made by the Levine Memorial Chapel, Albany. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association. Robert F. Middendorf, 75, a life long resident of Syosset, died on Feb. 7, 2002. A WWII veteran, he was a member of the 26th Infantry Division. He received a combat Infantry Badge, Battle Star in Europe, Patton's 3rd Army. He retired from LILCO after 42 1/2 years. He was honorary chief, ex-captain and life member of the Syosset Fire Dept., a member of the Nightraiders Drill Team, the Nassau County Drill Team Captains Association, the Dept. Exempt Association Board of Directors, the North Shore Holy Name Society and Syosset VFW Post #6394. Husband of the late Sarah Jane. Father of Robert G. and Thomas B. Father-in-law of Sherri and Patricia. Grandmother of Kelli, Julia and Thomas jr. Brother of the late Bernard. Arrangements were made by the Beney Funeral Home, Syosset. Firematic services.
