Five Syosset Students Named INTEL Semi-finalists
Each year, INTEL honors 300 of America's high school seniors for their excellence in science and names them semifinalists of the Intel Science Talent Search (STS). Five students from the Syosset School District were included in the 300 students.

Jericho Board of Education Examines the Budget Impact of Elementary Facilities Options
The Jericho Board of Education continued its examination of the district's elementary school facilities during the scheduled board of education meeting at the Seaman Elementary School on Thursday, Jan. 17. This was the fifth in a series of open board workshops dedicated to looking at various options to alleviate overcrowding at the three elementary schools. The goal of this workshop was to review the budget impact of capital and operational costs for each of the options still under consideration.

News from Jericho Boys Fifth Grade Basketball
On Jan. 20, the driftwood day Camp Hornets edged out the City Lumber Knicks. In a well-played and tiring game, the Driftwood Day Camp Hornets beat the City Lumber Knicks 37-21. Due to a holiday weekend, both teams came with only six players and this made for an exciting and exhausting game for both teams. Driftwood's offense was led by Andrew Amato with 16 points and Jason Blumberg with 12. Zachary Schatz played a great defensive game and contributed with eight points. Excellent play and a great effort was given by Grant Geisler, Garrett Kemp and Kevin Cheng.

Jericho Girls Making History
Jericho's girls varsity track team won the Conference Five Championships on Jan. 26 at a competition held at the State University of New York at Farmingdale. This is the first time in the school's history that the girls have achieved this well-deserved honor.
