In Tuesday's Jericho Fire Commissioner election, 299 residents showed their support and voted. Incumbent Commissioner Dave Munafo was re-elected by a margin of 199 votes to challenger Howard Pastolove's 100 votes.

Incumbent Commissioner Munafo has served as one of Jericho's fire commissioners for the past five years. He has been an active firefighter for 27 years holding officer positions of lieutenant and captain. As commissioner, Munafo has served as the vice-chairman and chairman of the board. He is also a member of the National Fire Protection Association, International Association of Fire Chiefs and the New York Association of Fire Chiefs.

As decided by the voters, Munafo will sit on Jericho's board of commissioners for another term, which lasts five years.
