Lenore Shimon and Tanya Shimon got first-half goals for Marjam in the Jericho Athletic Association fourth and fifth grade girls intramural soccer game. Danielle Schwartz's pair of goals knotted the score 2-2 at halftime.
Marjam goalie Anna Butler made repeated tie-preserving saves to start the second half, before Rebecca Shinners notched her first career goal to put Andrew Marc up 3-2. The lead evaporated when Sydney Werber tied the score, and two more quick goals gave Marjam a 5-3 advantage. Jessica Weingast's last-second shot made the final 5-4.
Danielle Petricoff played solid defense for Marjam, while Sara Nyan was strong at midfield and Lindsay Snyder had a great comeback from a fractured wrist. For Andrew Marc, strong contributions were made by Pamela Seltzer and Kassandra Pae.
At Jackson School, Incredible Feets, in maroon, shut out Falk & Klebanoff, wearing orange, 3-0. Orange goalie Dara Federow saved shot after shot in heavy traffic in the scoreless first half . Alison Gluck's header turned back one maroon foray upfield and orange's Shelby Bates stole numerous throw-ins.
Maroon solved Federow in the second half. A lively shot by Marissa Resnick bounced through her fingers into the net. Lauren Siegelbaum put in another and Resnick capped the scoring with a penalty shot. Blair Seideman, Lauren Moskovic, and Kelly Prudente moved the ball well. Tough defense by Arielle Camhi, Francesca Stasi and Julianne Rucker kept orange mostly in their own end. When they got through, Julie Gold's crisp saves preserved the shutout.
Later at Jackson, Morrisons Pastry defeated Silverman, Perlstein, & Acampora 3-0. Samantha McInerney and Caroline Motschwiller had goals in the victory.
