Suozzi's Peripatetic Journey Ends in Victory
Throughout his campaign for Nassau County Executive, Democrat Tom Suozzi told residents that "he could do it because he's done it," referring to his ability to turn around the financial fortunes of the City of Glen Cove as its mayor. Suozzi firmly believes he could do the same for Nassau County and now he will get his chance.

Underhill Property Not Yet Preserved
In an article on page 3 of last week's edition of the Syosset-Jericho Tribune, Nassau County Executive Thomas Gulotta announced an agreement among municipalities of Nassau County, the Town of Oyster Bay and the State of New York in an effort to acquire the 81-acre Underhill property in Jericho and preserve it as open space.

Seaman Athletes Score Big
For the third year in a row, fourth-and fifth-grade students from the Robert Seaman School in Jericho medaled in the NFL sponsored Punt, Pass and Kick competition. Seaman physical education teachers Patrick Smith and Rita Bacher invited interested students to compete for the honor of representing their school at this year's competition.

Syosset Teammates Still Together
Freshman Alexis Brill and Junior Amy Weissberg are starting singles players for the Binghamton University Women's Tennis Team. The team, coached by fourth-year Coach Jaime Campbell, is in its inaugural season as a Division I School of the NCAA. Brill and Weissberg, both graduates of Syosset High School, were also teammates on the high school girls tennis team, which won consecutive Nassau County Championships in 1997 and 1998.
