The U-10 Jericho Tigers Boys Soccer team has come roaring out of the gate in their first foray into travel soccer. The team, coached by Brian Landow, Tom Goren, Lloyd Solomon, and Ricky, has made all of their supporters extremely proud. The Tigers opened their year by winning the HBC Labor Day Weekend Tournament. The Tigers won all 5 games that weekend over 3 days, and they went unscored upon for the entire tournament.
In League play, the Tigers play in the tough Nassau NN Division. The NN Division contains numerous soccer powers including Albertson, Hicksville and Mineola. At present, the Tigers are in second place with a record of 4 wins, 1 loss and 2 ties for 10 points.
The Tigers also enjoyed success in the State Cup Tournament winning 2 games before bowing out to a very talented Los Politos squad made up of players from the entire Tri-State area.
The Tigers offense is led by a talented group of midfielders, Andrew "AJ" Bauman, Michael Solomon, Charlie Fasano, and Brian Watt. Flying up and down the left and right side of the Tiger's high powered offense are Jeffrey Goren, Jason Shinners, Pody Upal, and Austin Landow. The defense has been rock solid all year as Steven Graziano, and the "Twin-isters of Defense," Michael and Nicholas Tuccillo, have shut down the opponents offensive chances. Last, but certainly not least has been the stellar goaltending of Brandon First and Joe Chamish who laid it all on the line to protect the Tiger's cage.
Go Tigers!!
