Republican Town of Oyster Bay Council Candidates
Leonard Symons is seeking re-election to the Town of Oyster Bay Board, a position he was first elected to in 1989. Symons has been a resident of Plainview for almost 25 years and says he has gained a great deal of knowledge about all areas of the Town of Oyster Bay, and not just his hometown, during his tenure.

Jericho's October Homecoming Walk-A-Thon Will Support the American Red Cross
Jericho's homecoming is an annual fall event that is enjoyed by students, parents, staff and community members. This year, the parade/walk-a-thon will be used to support World Trade Center disaster victims, their families and rescue teams.

Syosset Places Fourth in Columbus Day Tournament
The Syosset Thunder brought home a respectable 2-2-1 record from the 2001 Columbus Day Soccer Tournament, delivering them fourth place among U-10 girls. The newly formed travel team showed a new aggressive spirit as they went toe to toe with top competition in the three day tournament, held Oct. 6-7-8, at T.J. Leahy Elementary in Greenlawn.

Andrew Marc Victor in JAA Soccer
Four different players on the Andrew Marc soccer team, in dark blue, scored goals in a 4-2 victory over the Silverman, Perlstein & Acampora team, in red, on, Oct. 14. The action in Jericho Athletic Association's girl's intramural fourth and fifth grade soccer league took place at Seaman School.
