Long Island runners gathered in Eisenhower Park in East Meadow on Sept. 30 for the second annual Sprint for the Parks 4 Mile Run, and lots of local area runners were part of the event -- and came home with awards.

Elizabeth Kobak Captures County Singles Tennis Championship
Elizabeth Kobak, a Jericho eighth-grader, blasted her way to win the Nassau County Championship Singles Tennis Title on Saturday, Oct. 6. Kobak, who has been playing tennis since age 8, was unseeded in the tournament and had qualified for a place in the county championship by winning her matches in a qualifying tournament.
