Syosset Businessman Leaves Behind Legacy
Most Syosset residents know Star Auto & Hardware merely as Bill's Hardware. They also know that they can go to Bill's to get construction advice, instructions or even to borrow tools that are too expensive to purchase. Bill Schier, often referred to as the best storekeeper Syosset has ever known, lost his battle with lung cancer and passed away on July 7.

Free Junior Golf Day at Lightpath Long Island Classic
A free Junior Golf Day will be held at the Lightpath Long Island Classic on Tuesday, July 31. The Lightpath Long Island Classic, a Senior PGA Tour event now in its 15th year, will be returning to the Meadow Brook Club in Jericho the week of July 30 - Aug. 5.
