The Syosset Sparks U-12 Girls Travel Soccer team took another step up the Division 2 ladder Saturday, May19, defeating the Cold Spring Harbor Seahawks 1-0.

Dani Goodwin scored the Spark's goal from her striker position off a perfect pass from midfielder Lizzy Weintraub as well as having their hands in several additional opportunities. The sparkling defense anchored by fullbacks Nicole Alexa and Samie Spira-Bauer as well as sweeper Sarina Paty and stopper Lauren Liebling held the Cold Spring Harbor attack at bay and keeper Stephanie Sumcizk stopped everything that came her way.

The midfield anchored by Tori Levine, Kim Sumcizk, Andrea Hoda, Lauren Salzman, Jenna Kogan, Michelle Zar and Lizzy Weintraub helped control the game and provided numerous scoring opportunities. Strikers Jamie Weisfogel, Melissa Matos, Dani Goodwin and Jenna Tyrangel, who kept the Cold Spring Harbor defense busy, assisted them. This game was won with the usual Spark's strong team effort.
