Coming up against a top-rated West Babylon team, Jericho knew that this game could only be won with some outstanding play. Hopes of taking an early lead were immediately crushed as West Babylon took an early lead in the first few minutes with a quick score. It was not long after, that West Babylon would once again score taking a 2-0 lead. Jericho midfielder, Zach Zetlin managed to score, but in the second period West Babylon would snap back with two additional goals to end the half with a 4-1 lead. In the third quarter, the aggressive play by West Babylon kept them on the offense. This time it would be their attack that would score in the third period, increasing their lead to 5-1.
