Robis DeGirmenci, a resident of Syosset, finished third overall out of the 416 runners who successfully completed the Police Officer Gary Farley Five Kilometer Run held on Cedar Creek Park.

DeGirmenci covered the 3.1 mile course through the streets of Wantagh in 16 minutes, 22 seconds, placing him only 16 seconds behind the overall winner Carlos Castro Jr. of Levittown.

DeGirmenci is a member of the greater Long Island Running Club and runs competitively for the Club's Men's Racing Team.
