With over 60 kids from grades K-6, the Jericho Lacrosse Club had its best turnout yet for its annual fall clinic. Buddy Anscher, last year's coach with the third-/fourth-graders, says: "With a coaching staff of six ex-college lacrosse players and a continuing record of winning seasons, I believe the Jericho Lacrosse Club is creating a buzz within the local communities. We have enough coaches to provide good individualized attention and we have a sport which provides all the elements of soccer and football combined into one sport."

"We play communities that literally play all year-round. Because most of our kids are away at sleep-away camps and because other activities during the week prevent our teams from practicing as frequently as other communities, this new "three-season" program is given the opportunity to a core of devoted players to really mature as a team. And combined with their athletic abilities, we seem to be creating competitive teams that can play with the best."

The Jericho Lacrosse Club's clinics are being held at Jericho High School on Saturdays from 2:30-3:30 p.m. for K-4 and 3:30-4:30 p.m. for the fifth-/sixth-grade travel team. There are five clinics left from Oct. 7 to Nov. 4. We can still accept a few more potential players at our next clinic on Oct. 7. Applications can be printed from the www.11753.com website. For questions, call Dan Feinstein at 626-6694 or Buddy Anscher at 921-8216. Practices are held rain (within reason) or shine.
