The Syosset Sparks, U-12 Girls Travel Soccer Team, won the prestigious Long Island Junior Soccer League Sportsmanship Award for the second consecutive season. This award is based on a point grading system awarded by the referee at the end of each game. Points are awarded for different categories including Team Sportsmanship, Parents and Coaches Sportsmanship and appearance. Over the course of the season, the Sparks accumulated a total of 382 points out of a possible 405.

The team that accumulates the largest total of sportsmanship points over the course of the season is presented with a patch, commemorating their achievement. This patch is proudly displayed on their uniform. The Sparks will receive a special edition gold patch honoring their second such award.

The Sparks are: Michelle Zar, Jamie Weisfogel, Lizzy Weintraub, Jenna Tryangel, Stephanie Sumcizk, Kim Sumcizk, Sami Spira-Bauer, Lauren Salzman, Sarina Paty, Melissa Matos, Lauren Liebling, Tori Levine, Jenna Kogan, Andrea Hoda, Dani Goodwin and Nicole Alexa.

The Sparks welcome Jamie Weisfogel and Melissa Matos to this year's roster. They are welcome additions who have already shown how well they fit in and improve the team.
