Transportation Proposition Topic at Hamlet East
Jericho Superintendent of Schools Hank Grishman met with residents of the Hamlet East on Tuesday evening, May 9 to discuss the transportation proposition on the ballot as part of the May 16 budget vote. A large number of concerned parents, whose children stand to lose their existing bus service, came to this evening forum to get the facts and get involved. Jericho School Board President Hilari Cohen and Vice President Robert Goldsmith were also present at the meeting.

School Budget Vote and Board Election
Syosset Central School District will hold its annual budget vote and school board election on Tuesday, May 16. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. at Robbins Lane School, H.B. Thompson Middle School, and Syosset High School.

Jericho Little League Girls Softball 5/6 Grade
The Yankees resumed their season after a long lay-off with a thrilling 11-6 comeback win over the Angels on May 6 at Syosset-Woodbury Park. On the mound for the Yankees was fireballer Felicia Machover. She went the distance for her first win recording 11 strikeouts and three shut-out innings.

Jericho 5th and 6th Grade Boys Baseball
The Morrisons Pastry Angels defeated the Ben's Kosher Deli Diamond Backs by the score of 11-4 on a beautiful night under the lights at Syosset Woodbury Park on May 5. Alex Siegel pitched 4 outstanding innings for the Angels for his third victory and helped raise his team's record to 3-2. The Angels broke out on top for 5 big runs in the opening frame as John Goldsmith, Ryan Saunders and Josh Morey all reached base on walks. Brian Harris then knocked in 2 runs with a solid single. After Siegel coaxed another free pass, David Fusco and Adam Kronengold rapped run scoring doubles to give their team a commanding lead.
