Author of Honor For Sale at Borders-Syosset
As a detective assigned to the Special Investigating Unit of the NYPD, Bayville resident Gerald E. Kelly witnessed the horror of this perverse "law enforcement" organization where robbery, bribery and big-time drug dealing were the norm. Kelly tells the story of how the SIU was finally brought under control in his book Honor For Sale which has been optioned for a TV movie starring Ray Liotta. Syosset Students Score in Relay
Syosset High School speedsters comprised seven of more than 100 teams that competed in the three-runner by two-mile Trail Relay hosted by the Greater Long Island Running Club and its racing team at Bethpage State Park on Sunday, March 5. Not only did 21 of the youngsters compete, but track coach Paul Englehard ran the seocnd leg for the team that turned out to be the overall winners of the competition.
