Calling for the complete reassessment of Nassau's over 415,000 parcels of property in a news conference held in the press room of the State Supreme Court building in Mineola earlier this week, Nassau County Assessor Charles O'Shea made the most dramatic step to date to modernize the county's assessment system that has been unchanged since 1938.

Syosset Youth Football Braves Winning With Pride
It is that time again football fans! The new board of directors of Syosset Youth Football would like to invite you to join another great year of Braves football. Syosset Youth Football is a member of the Nassau/Suffolk Football League. The league is for children between the ages of 5 and 12. The teams are assembled based on age and weight. We have a 5-6 year old team, a 7-8 year old team, a 9-10 year old team and a 11-12 year old team. The season runs from the middle of September through the end of November. Football practices begin on Aug. 8. You do not need to be a resident of Syosset to join our team. Everybody is welcome!

Don't Be Left on the Sidelines
The Jericho Lacrosse Club will be holding its final registration before the spring season starts. The registration will take place at George Jackson School, Monday, March 6, between the hours of 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. The cost for children in grades k - 2 is $75 for a clinic. The cost for children in grades 3 - 6 is $125 (plus a helmet deposit of $25 if needed).
