Landmark Commission Accepts Application
The Landmark Commission voted last week to consider the property at 555 Jericho Turnpike, in Jericho, a landmark. Two applications were submitted - one application includes the structures on the property, the house and barn, and the other application includes the land. Both applications were approved by the Commission pushing the process to the next step which is a hearing set for March 8.

Leading a Double Life
Michael Hartnett, an English teacher at Jericho High School, has published his first novel, Universal Remote, which hit book stores early this year. "This novel is a strange journey through our Turn-of-the-Millennium World," said Hartnett during an interview with the Syosset-Jericho Tribune.

In the 7th-8th grade division, the Hornets lifted their league-leading record to 10-1 as they erased the Lakers 65-44. Led by Scott Fridkin's all-around play, the offense of Jason Rosenfeld and the outstanding board work of Andrew Abbott and Ben Solof, the Hornets were never headed as they surged to double-digit victories and became the odds-on favorite to win the upcoming playoffs. Adam Gerstein, Scott Trimarchi and the "Nanikashvili Boys" (Steve and Jim) help round out the squad that has tormented the rest of the division.
