In recognition of their accomplishments over the past year, three local residents were presented with awards at the Greater Long Island Running Club's annual Awards Night, held last month.

Robis DeGirmenci of Syosset was presented with the award for the club's overall men's champion for 1999, Bert Jablon of Syosset was honored as the club's champion in the 70-74 age group and the venerable George Dennis of Muttontown was presented with the award for the club's 75+ champion.
